Our Services

To fully treat a musculoskeletal injury, you have to treat all aspects of the problem. Our treatments are aimed at
  • decreasing muscle spasm,
  • increasing joint and spine functionability,
  • increasing strength and stability, and
  • decreasing nerve irritation and inflammation.
By addressing each of these issues, we minimize the duration of treatment and help to reduce the likelihood of future complications. That is complete and focused therapy.

Our goal is the same as yours - this is how we get you there.

Chiropractic:

Dr. Pettiet and Dr. McHone utilize Diversified adjusting technique. This method of adjusting or manipulation promotes and induces proper joint function and mobility. A dysfunctional joint can lead to
arthritis and ultimately complete degeneration of the integrity of that joint. When a joint is out of place (in the spine, knee, shoulder, hip, etc...) it can be painful and annoying. However, ongoing pain in a joint lends itself to spasm in the surrounding muscles and ultimately irritation of nearby nerves, especially in the spine. Chiropractic is exactly what is needed to address what lies ahead.

Therapies:

We address soft-tissue injuries delicately.  We use therapies which reduce muscle spasm, inflammation, and scar tissue formation.  These therapies are referred to as "passive", meaning you just sit by and let someone else do all the work.
Examples of therapies include:

  • ultrasound,
  • deep-tissue massage,
  • myofascial release,
  • trigger point therapy,
  • interferential therapy, and
  • ice or moist heat therapy.
Together, these therapies create an environment within soft-tissue that is more conducive for healing.

Physical Rehab:

This category of therapy encompasses all aspects of rehab.  We specialize in pre- and post-surgical rehab for patients who are preparing for or returning from surgery.  For a typical, non-surgical patient, rehab is just as necessary to decrease the likelihood that problem a will become chronic or that secondary issues will arise.  Rehab may include aerobic or non-aerobic exercises.  Stability is the goal...strength is the result.  Our facilities are equipped with recumbent bicycles, treadmills, upper extremity cycles, dumb bell stations, theraband stations, etc.  We have everything you need to get through your injuries.

Spinal Traction:

Spinal traction and/or decompression is the new "big thing". We've used traction for years for our patients with disc injuries as a way to reduce nerve pain and radiating symptoms. If you experience shooting, tingling, numbness, loss of strength, or pain in your arms/hands or legs/feet, you may be a perfect candidate for traction therapy.
